Recently, while browsing the internet, I came across a story that left everyone both shocked and deeply moved.

The protagonist is named Lucy, who just turned 44 this year. Unfortunately, she suffers from severe lupus, which led to kidney failure.
(Kidney failure is a condition where the kidneys can no longer function properly, primarily characterized by the body's inability to eliminate waste and regulate fluids, leading to symptoms such as edema, fatigue, and nausea.)

The doctors told her that without a kidney transplant, Lucy had at most five years left to live. However, the chances of finding a matching kidney were only one in 22 million—practically impossible...

Despite her condition, Lucy remained remarkably optimistic. She had two dogs, Jake and Indie, and spent every day with them. Lucy said she loved her dogs dearly and felt relaxed and at peace when she was with them.
But time was running out. Two years had passed since her diagnosis, and her health was deteriorating rapidly. Still, no matching kidney had been found.

Then, last year, an unexpected turn of events occurred—all thanks to one of her dogs.

During a vacation to a beach in South Wales, UK, with her husband and the dogs, Indie suddenly became very excited. Ignoring Lucy's calls, the dog ran straight to a stranger about 100 meters away.

The woman, named Katie, was 40 years old. Indie circled around her enthusiastically, as if deeply intrigued by her. Lucy quickly caught up and apologized for the dog's behavior, even inviting Katie to join them for a barbecue.

Over the meal, Lucy and Katie began chatting. Lucy mentioned that she was on dialysis and couldn't drink alcohol, which led to a conversation about her condition. When Katie learned that Lucy was waiting for a kidney donor, she was astonished—she had recently registered as a donor herself.

They exchanged phone numbers immediately, and Katie expressed her willingness to donate if they were a match.

Miraculously, tests later confirmed that Katie and Lucy were indeed a perfect match! The transplant surgery was soon performed and went smoothly. Today, Lucy is living a normal, healthy life.
When the story was reported, many found it unbelievable. Even the doctors called it nothing short of a miracle.

No one knows why Indie ran to Katie that day, but Lucy believes, deep down, that Indie somehow knew everything—that the dog was trying to save her life.

"I'm so grateful to her..." Lucy said.

Now, Lucy and Katie have become inseparable friends. They often go out together with their dogs, enjoying meals, trips, and more.
